Port Finish Strongly

Port squared up against Northern Districts in the last round of the season, hoping to get another win over the Tigers, as they had back in June. The Blacks were slow out of the blocks but punished Norths for their mistakes, taking full advantage of the opportunites in front of goal. By half time Port had kept North goalless while racking up 6 of their own. The Tigers, however, fought back in the 3rd quarter scoring 5 goals to 1 to give themselves a chance. Port then steadied in the last quarter to run out comfortable winners by a 4 goal margin bringing their record to 4 wins from the last 6 games.

Reserves Miss Out

Port Reserves battled the Tigers for a spot in the semi finals this weekend and fell agonisingly short against an extremely strong Norths side. The Blacks and Tigers fought tooth and nail with so much at stake and, unfortunately for Port, Norths came out on top. With the scores close right throughtout the match, the Tigers kicked on in the last quarter to take the game, and the semi spot, by 18 points.

New Life Members

Congratulations are extended to new Port Kembla AFC Life Members, Col Hickey and Frank Vergan, who were honoured at the 35 Year Reunion on Saturday night. Both of these guys are absolute legends at the club and it was obviously a very popular decison to bestow Life Membership on both gentlemen.
